I have received a remarkable amount of feedback regarding my intention to automatically remove items from watchlists if a user has purchased an item from a watchlist.
The plan is to actually implement this. However, users will receive an email when this happens, with the option via a link to add the product in question back to the watchlist.
This requires some programming work and testing. This will likely happen in July, when I take a break from the showroom.
Currently, active users have added over 13,000 products to watchlists. This gives me very valuable insights into what is and isn't in demand. It is therefore important that those watchlists are up to date.
An active user is someone who has logged into the website in the past 12 months.
Note: If a user has not logged in for more than 12 months, the account is considered inactive. This means that no more notifications and newsletters will be sent. Incidentally, this is an important Google recommendation for keeping a web server's spam reputation low. Many websites do this, including TradeMe.
