Built in factories and sold by the thousands as complete kits from 1945 to the early 1950s, they were assembled on site as free-standing homes and entire subdivisions.
Still lived in today, these compact and cozy houses are a signature structure for steam-, diesel- and modern-era layouts. Features include:
