Boasting the characteristic Rinnen lettering, the brown 20ft tank container, whose real-world counterpart travels on roads and railways and, at times, by ship, is now finding its way into the hands of collectors. WIKING achieves an unmatched level of detail as the tank container is stored and transported in a standard, yet exceptionally intricate container structure. Another welcome addition to the steadily growing 1:87 Rinnen fleet. A matching new trailer chassis makes transporting the tank container a cinch - opening up a new usage option for heavy-duty combinations. The miniaturised prototype is the Schmitz Cargobull chassis with the type designation S.CF 30ft. The three-axle original is designed to variably transport tank containers with a weight of up to 33,500 kg and a length of 20 and 30 ft, respectively. The tank container is widely used both in the chemical industry and in the food industry. Established in 1943 by Konrad Rinnen in Duisburg-Homberg, the history of this forwarding company can serve as an example of the logistics industry, which is highly specialised today.
