Interested in making models for others?
I regularly get asked by visitors to the showroom if I know someone who can make a model or kit for them. People often do not have the time, skills and/or tools themselves.
If you are interested in helping others with this, you can do the following:
- Send me a document with your details in which you indicate what your skills are with photos of examples.
- Skills can be: painting/weathering models, 3D print designs, scratch building, scenery etc.
- What kind of models your specialty are: Cars, trucks, model railway, statues, dioramas, (Warhammer) figures etc.
- How many hours per week you are willing to spend on this.
- What you would like to see as a reward for your efforts.
The idea is that I will show an interested customer a few documents of modellers that I think best match the customer's needs and then the customer can decide who to contact.
At the moment only modellers who live in the Wellington area, please. Regular Mini-Kiwiland Shop customers only.

Please be aware that NZ Post has increased its rates for small parcels since Friday. Quite unexpected. See further in this newsletter.

Unfortunately, NZ Post has increased the rates for small parcels significantly since Friday. This is the second time this year. 4 times in the past year and a half!
The last time was on July 1st and this was announced. This time the increase was completely unexpected.
On July 1st I was forced to increase the rates for the smallest parcels from $5.50 to $5.90. This time the increase is from $5.90 to $9.20!
Other rates for small parcels have also been gone up.
On top of this, NZ Post has changed the website, which means that the processing takes longer. For example, it is no longer possible to process parcels together. Payment is also no longer automatic.
It is a big step backwards. I apologize for this, but I can't do anything about it. There is no alternative.
The rates for Wellington to Palmerston North has not changed. This is a separate contract. Flat rate is still $5.90.
