Confederate Troops - American Civil War

The Army of the Southern states was formed in 1861. The largest contingent was formed by men from Virginia, most of whom were volunteers and not professional soldiers.

A lot of equipment was not standardized and the uniforms were quite diverse. The Confederate army was led by Robert E. Lee, a great general both on the battlefield and as a strategist.
