ROLLS ROYCE CORNICHE

DESCRIPTION

Rolls Royce Corniche Convertible Open Indigo Blue

This 1:43 scale Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible in indigo blue is a replica of the 1970s two-door, front-engine, rear wheel drive, five seater prestige car.

Manufactured by the Company, both as a coupe and convertible and introduced in 1971, the Corniche was assembled and finished in London by Mulliner Park Ward (MPW), superseding the 1960s Silver Shadow. The marque lasted until the early 1980s when it was further updated under the Bentley name. During the short lifetime of the Corniche around 3200 cars were sold and it proved the favourite car of celebrities from all over the world including Aristotle Onassis, Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney and James May to name but a few.

For its first outing, we have chosen the rich blue colour scheme with silver trim and light tan tonneau cover and interior seating, registered UTU 353.

The detailed dashboard is reproduced in brown with black instrument panels and a further detail includes bright blue 'carpeting'. Oxford has also added wing mirrors and lower front spotlights, which were an option on the original. And for a final touch, a gleaming silver Spirit of Ecstasy mascot has been added on the front of the bonnet, the hallmark of Rolls-Royce!
