DESCRIPTION

French Dragoons 1812-1814

The idea to put infantry on horses to increase maneuverability was successfully used already by Alexander the Great. Dragoons, as a separate type of soldiers armed with firearms, trained to fight mounted and dismounted, were first established in France in the middle of the 16th century. Approximately two-thirds of French Dragoon regiments of the Napoleon times traced their history to the 17th century. Contents: 3 unpainted mounted figures
