Engineer troops were an important part of British army during World War I. Since then these troops were well prepared for trench warfare. However, by 1940s the nature of European warfare has changed once again, and British engineer troops faced completely new challenges. Nevertheless, they proved to be highly proficient and managed to accomplish their tasks.
