It has lead to several German surprise attacks with severe consequences. However, by 1942 Soviet reconnaissance troops became more proficient and the number of unpleasant surprises to Soviet command dramatically decreased. A year later, the reconnaissance troops have reached the peak of their efficiency. By that time Germans had almost no chance to surprise Soviet troops.
