Mercedes-Benz Transporter 1954
After Mercedes-Benz had returned to the Grand Prix circuit in 1954 with its W196 Silver Arrows, a fast transport vehicle was needed to transport individual racing cars as quickly as possible, at least within Europe, to their place of use in Monza, Monaco, Spa or the Nürburgring, but also back to the factory for necessary technical work. The Mercedes-Benz racing car fast transporter was born. This one-of-a-kind vehicle, which was elaborately handcrafted, had the engine of the 300 SL Gullwing and reached a top speed of 170 kilometers per hour. This also earned it the name „Blue Wonder“.
