DESCRIPTION

Shunters Epoch III & IV

The Model Figures are wearing work clothes and yellow hard hats typical of eras III and IV. Eras III and IV refer to the period from approx. 1945 to approx. 1990. All the figures are assuming typical working poses. Shunters are also known as shunting staff (or switchers in the US). They couple or uncouple vehicles, secure parked vehicles with wheel chocks and operate points. They hold back uncoupled railway wagons with brake shoes and observe the route.
