In this newsletter I would like to highlight a new brand for us: American Diorama. A shipment with lots of American Diorama figures arrived today.
Also two more product categories from Artitec in this newsletter: Planes and World War I.
Sales for this week are various 1:43 scale model cars and tractors plus Kibri and Viessmann rail vehicles.
And good news for postage to the South Island!

After removing several parcel sizes last week, we added a new option this week: The South Island Bag.
NZ Post charges and additional $4.90 for packages to the South Island that are larger than A4 size with a height of 70mm.
Parcels of A4 size and up to 138mm in height usually cost $13.70 to the South Island, but when you send this exact box inside their 'size 6' bag, it suddenly costs $10.50. A saving of $3.20.
Rural is extra.
Shipping options appear on each product page after clicking the 'Shipping Options' link below the price.
American Diorama's first set of product was launched in 2008. They were at first trying to focus on the G scale Garden railroad market with figures, buildings and accessories.
Due to the demands changed over the years, American Diorama has switched its focus from 1:24 to 1:18. Now they are focusing on making different types of figures for hobby collectors.
About 60 new products are released every year. More brand new items are expected in August. This will bring their catalogue over 500 different products.
In addition to figures, American Diorama also offers a small range of accessories.
Around 80% of their catalogue is actually in stock at the moment. Quite a few out-of-stock items will be available again in August.

In 2019, Artitec introduced a new category: airplanes in H0 | 1:87.
Artitec started with a series of twelve Fokker aircraft. That is no coincidence. The business premises of Artitec are located on the site of the former Fokker factory in Amsterdam-North.
In 1912, Dutch aviation pioneer Anthony Fokker left for Berlin, where he founded a company at an airport in the vicinity of Berlin. Fokker sold 800 Fokker D.VII aircraft to the Luftstreitkräfte during the First World War.
After the war, Anthony Fokker returned to the Netherlands where he founded a Dutch aircraft factory in Amsterdam-North in the exhibition halls of the First Aviation Exhibition Amsterdam (1919). This coincided with the establishment of the K.L.M. on October 7, 1919. The Fokker factory was destroyed in 1943 during Allied bombings on Amsterdam-North.
Artitec has around 25 World War I HO scale products in its catalogue. Below are four examples:
