During the 'Open Office Days' the Mini-Kiwiland Shop broke a sales record: Turnover has never been so high in a year. While this seems great, it is unfortunately no longer feasible to move to a much needed larger showroom by the end of the year. See 'Record Sales' below.
The next 'Open Office Days' on the 7th and 8th of November are all about diecast collectibles. From cars, trucks and buses to tanks, planes and helicopters. From 1:12 to 1:160. Many hundreds. Much more than we are allowed to bring to Toy Collectors Fairs.
HaT figures, more Faller kit sets and Vallejo paint are expected in a few days. All new stock will also be shown at 'Open Office Days', regardless of the 'Open Office Day' type.

During the 'Open Office Days' the Mini-Kiwiland Shop broke a sales record: Turnover has never been so high in a year.
Online sales in particular increased enormously after the first lockdown. At the beginning of this year, however, the intention was to move to a large showroom by the end of the year. This is badly needed to grow further, but despite the promising online sales there was a sharp drop in sales at shows and events.
Sales at shows and events were a large part of our total revenue in 2019. We planned to visit more events in 2020, but unfortunately this turned out not to be possible. This had nothing to do with the situation of Covid-19.
As I get a lot of feedback from disappointing customers that the Mini-Kiwiland Shop doesn't visit certain events nearby and event organizers claim we don't want to visit their events anymore, I feel like I need to explain this a bit more.
During events in 2019 we got a lot of positive feedback from the public about the amount of products, variety and fair prices of what we brought. For us it was also a great way to meet (new) customers and to see what is and what is not in demand. At some events we sold continuously from opening to closing time. This caused a lot of resistance from other traders who believe that the choice for the public should be limited to their selection and their (higher) prices. Various event organizers came up with restrictions to protect the traditional/professional traders from newcomers like the Mini-Kiwiland Shop. Due to those restrictions, it was no longer feasible to attend most events.
Some event organizers even ban traders that could negatively impact the sales of their traditional sellers. I especially regret not being able to go to Christchurch. Something I was looking forward to.
My apologies to those who have been to events expecting the Mini-Kiwiland Shop to be there. We still try to go to events where we are welcome of course. However, it is currently very uncertain which events these will be in 2021.
The 'Open Office Days' are a way to hopefully fill the gap and keep meeting customers.
Despite the financial setbacks from the events, the Mini-Kiwiland Shop is still growing thanks to online sales and there are still plans to move to a much needed large showroom with even more stock.
Many thanks to all who support the Mini-Kiwiland Shop. Online, at Open Office Days and at events!
