Welcome to the 7th newsletter from the Mini-Kiwiland Shop.
In this newsletter we have a sale of damaged items that will not be offered on our website, but on TradeMe this time. I would also like to highlight IXO Models, which is a relatively unknown brand in New Zealand, but one of the largest model car manufacturer in the world.

With over 300 newly released models every year, IXO Models is one of the largest model car manufacturer in the world.
Around 120 of the new releases are for their own IXO Models brand. The majority of their models are made for other brands worldwide. Brands they produce models for are Brekina, BoS (Best of Show), WhiteBox and many more.
The model brands Premium X, 1st Models and J-Collection are owned by IXO Models.
J-Collection is a brand that releases 1:43 scale Japanese cars only. Modern cars and vans from Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Lexus, Infinity, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu.
IXO Models used to produce many of the Atlas Editions releases that came with magazines worldwide. Atlas Editions stopped a few years ago. We still have many of those models available for purchase and we are still able to order some out-of-stock models, but stock at our suppliers is running out. See our Atlas Editions page.
IXO Models releases many collectible series like Museum Cars, Truck Cabs, Buses, Le Mans Winners, Trucks & Trailers, Camping Cars, Fire Trucks, Tractors etc. etc.
Many more new series can be expected from IXO Models. One of the latest new series are 1:43 scale dump trucks.
A brand to keep an eye on.
New stock with new releases will arrive each month from July on.
Unfortunately it happens quite regularly that items in transit to New Zealand get damaged. These items will not be offered for sale on our website, but will be offered at reduced prices on shows and events mostly or on TradeMe. Last week damaged items were listed on TradeMe for just $1.00 reserve.
In the future we intend to offer damaged items at reduced prices on our website as well as used products.
In most cases packaging gets damaged only and not the content. Most common cause of damage is water damage due to 'container rain'.
Container rain, also known as container sweat, is a very common problem for shipping containers, but it also occurs when shipping is done by air. It just depends where parcels get (temporarily) stored.
Container rain is a term given to the condensation which can occur inside a container when moving from a warm climate to a cooler one or by cargo heating up. If left unattended it can damage goods during transit. It can also occur if parcels are temporarily stored and waiting to be shipped within just 24 hours. Anywhere inside a closed room where there's a temperature difference over time. Much like condensation on your windows in your house.
This container rain can be so severe that cardboard parcels can become completely soaked with water and fall apart when lifted, but in most cases only one side is affected. The side leaning against a wall.
Sometimes a heater is placed where parcels are stored to prevent container rain. However, you do not want your parcel near a heater when you are sending chocolate...
